About the winery
The beautiful and ancient domain of Tokaj-Hétszolo was taken over in 2009 by the world famous Chateau Cos d'Estournel from Bordeaux. This takeover has provided a tremendous boost in quality and in the know-how available. From 2012 the wines are certified organic. The word Hétszolo means nothing more than '7 vineyard plots', chosen by the founders, the Garai Family. It goes without saying, the 7 most fertile plots of the Tokaji mountain. The domain has been producing wines for 500 years, one chunk of history and qualified as premier grand cru. The '7 parcels of vineyards' overlook the point where the rivers Tisza and Bodrog give them a great place to develop noble rot (botrytris cinerea), giving the wines their specific character.
About the wine
Intense and complex dessert wine.
Colour: Golden yellow.
Bouquet and taste: Intense and concentrated glass of wine with notes of caramel, dried fruit, toast and honey. In the taste, the sweetness is the first thing that stands out, followed by a spiciness melted into the wine. The well-packaged acidity gives this complex glass of wine a length in flavor that lingers for a long time.
Wine and food suggestion: This wine is an excellent combination with fresh desserts such as sorbet ice cream with fresh fruit.
