Description
Redoma tinto is Niepoort’s original Douro wine, first released in 1991. It is like Douro: "extreme, with a rigorous character". Old north-facing vineyards from Quinta de Nápoles and Pinhão Valley form the basis of Redoma. Its main varieties are Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca.
The Redoma Tinto 2020 is a Niepoort classic which reflects the elegance, structure, and acidity that only a region as diverse as the Douro Valley can express.
A beautifully concentrated ruby red appearance displays some violet glints when the wine is swirled. The nose is delicate, with notes of aromatic herbs, floral aromas, and hints of fruits of the forest which are complemented by smoky nuances, adding further complexity and character.
On the palate, this wine offers body and roundness as well as a piquant, linear, and incredibly well-balanced profile. Its outstanding acidity provides a long, expressive finish and promises longevity.
