Description: The Cannonau, the traditional wine of Sardinia, is made from 100% Cannonau grapes, an indigenous Sardinian vine that grows in the south of the largest Italian Mediterranean island, on the fertile soil of the Medio Campidano. The soils are calcareous, partly permeated with clay marl, moderately heavy and loose and mixed with smaller and medium-sized gravel. Mediterranean climate with mild winters, limited rainfall and very warm and windy summers promote the growth of this ancient grape variety. After harvesting, the grapes are macerated under temperature control, followed by malolactic fermentation in tanks and ageing in small wooden barrels for a period of 8 to 10 months. After a short bottle storage, the wine is ready for enjoyment.
